CONTEXT
ASML is an innovative and globally leading organisation specializing in chipmaking technology. The Thrive is engaged as their preferred supplier for learning and development services. The Thrive developed a program that would ensure the successful implementation of ASML’s newly determined cultural values: care, challenge, and collaboration. To ensure this was done efficiently and consistently throughout the organisation’s international teams, ASML organised a large event for their leadership ‘ambassadors’ from APAC, the US and the EU to attend. The desired outcome of the sessions around the value ‘challenge’ was to gain a deep understanding and buy-in within the groups of international leaders or ambassadors. Furthermore, the objective was to give these leaders the skills necessary to then implement these values within their local respective teams.
APPROACH
The program allocated the three core values across three different workshop setups. The ambassadors were split into groups of 40 before rotating through the workshop carousel. I supported The Thrive by co-facilitating the ‘challenge’ value workshops sequenced in two steps: the first having the ambassadors work through open-dialogue and ‘challenge in practice’ exercises, followed by a ‘Train The Trainer’ session which enabled the ambassadors to facilitate the workshop for their local teams themselves.
RESULTS
This in-depth practice was accompanied by qualitative topic discussions, the combination of which led to a deeper resonation of core values. ASML benefitted from enhanced ambassador capabilities across the organisation. With each ambassador equipped to apply these values within their individual team environments, we successfully contributed to the speed and scale of ASML’s cultural implementation across their global network.
